Daddy, Mama, and even Grandma all lent a helping hand during the session...
it was a completely "chill" experience, as in the slang way,
a state of being surprisingly content with or in an unfamiliar place.
relaxed.
go with the flow.
not worried about the little things.
calm.

not to be confused Webster's"chill", as in,
coldness, especially a moderate but uncomfortably penetrating coldness,
tending to cause shivering.

I mean criminently, they met in drum line...and I am telling you Pete is one-with-the-drum!!
you can tell...it's something he loves...it's fun to watch....and they really did play like popcorn!

this is a VERY typical photo session with the boys (3&5yrs.)...
I always promise myself when the session is over...
I will never attempt it again!
and then I forget how bad it was,
get busy,
need to "get it done,"
and I go and do it all over again...
it's like group family punishment or something...
truly, it is worse than the getting-ready-for-church-scramble...
Panda noodles barely soothe the nerves when it is over...
AND YET,
I wouldn't trade it for the world...
let's hear it for the boys!!

mr. jack...

so my "assist" met baby jack's parents...and instantly loved them...

before I knew it she was making herself comfortable in this chair...

and had put Jeff (mr. jack's daddy) to work, bouncing my light...
and y'all he was actually very very good at it!!
I would have hired him...and fired my assist...
but I don't pay her...
so it didn't seem prudent...

Meghan (mr. jack's mama) was totally relaxed...
and juggled everything else...
all the while I think my assist must have still been sitting in the chair...
I tell you it looked like a small explosion had happened out back...
but just the same, I had a ball...and really isn't that what it is all about?

I have given less and less advice as I have gotten a little older...maturity has a way of doing that...
BUT, I am going to break my own rule here...and give a little advice, do NOT try this at home.
Truly, it's just a genetic thing...I have had the privilege of photographing several ladies in this family...
and well, let's face it...the camera loves them...and it is just in their genes to be gorgeous...

I'm not saying I tried this look at home in the mirror or anything...
I mean I am not a selfie...yet...
just take my advice...don't.

my hair drama...

So, I dyed my hair brown...
I am so glad I did it...
but...
I am severely disappointed that I cannot blame everything on my "blonde" hair...
I am now a sensible brunette...oh my word, I am in such big trouble!
Kelci took my nuttiness (blonde or not) in stride...she is beautiful and a sweetheart....


little factoid for you..... back in the day...Joe's grandpa and my grandpa,
owned a bull together...
apparently it was a good bull
don't know why I share this stuff...
Maybe, because I am a brunette now....
and we do talk about sensible things, like,
