meet Rachel.

I had a ridiculously good time...
Rachel was ah-mazing...

and the light was so yummy...I mean yummy yummy!

I compulsively kept saying things like "Gorg"...

and "I could cry..."

and lots of other corny stuff that I am prone to say...

when I am having an artistic moment...

I am not claiming my work to be even close to that off a "true" fashion photographer...an iconic Annie Leibovitz, if you will...
but with or without the skill, in my heart, beats one.

meet Ryker jett.

a little trivia for you...
Ryker's mom has memories of visiting her
great-grandparents (Ryker's great-great's) ... who lived in our house,

honestly she is too nice to say, but she probably mostly remembers
the pink and peach tile...that is still here... gracing our bathrooms,
oh, only around 50 years later. sigh.

Ryker's great-great aunt still lives right around the corner from us.
appropriate don't you think that master Ryker should come here..
"in-studio" to get is newbie photos done?
I think so (:

our tad...

was running around outside...
and out of the clear blue sky...
said, MOM, wanna take some pictures?
I ran into the wall, rushing to get my camera...
I love this face.

meet silas.

I don't know...if you are going to pick a name for your son...
I love the name Silas, it is connected to such an amazing story...

It goes like this....
there were two men: Paul and Silas
they were on their way to a place of prayer,
a slave girl,
who had a spirit that predicted the future--fortune-telling.
followed them shouting..

“These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.”

this troubled Paul, who said to the spirit,
“In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!”
and immediately, the spirit left her.

The slave girls owners, ticked their income was gone,
seized Paul and Silas , dragged them to the marketplace
had them stripped, beaten, thrown into prison, feet in stocks.

After all this ,Paul and Silas, in prison,
were praying and singing hymns to God...

when there was a violent earthquake
and all the prison doors flew open.
the jailer, was about to kill himself
thinking the prisoners had escaped...
Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

The jailer fell before Paul and Silas, and asked.
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will
be saved—you and your household.” he believed in God—he and his whole family.

I just like the story..it's interesting to me...on more than one level...
I would tell the story to my son, if he were named silas...
but I am just quirky like that.

meet sanni.

so Kenny Wayne, sanni's daddy, works with Bruce,
and naturally anyone Bruce thinks a lot of...I take notice,
because it just so happens I think a lot of Bruce...
I am supper sappy, and Bruce just can't stand it (in fact, calls it "slobber")...
but I happen to think my hubby is brilliant, kind, gracious,tender-hearted,
accepting, wise, forgiving and funny...

he really sees something special in Kenny.
May God bless you, and your family, Kenny, Atavia and Sanni...
isn't she just precious?!

meet Jax.

what a total honor...
about 3 years ago, when I moved back here from Montana,
I met baby Jax's mama and daddy...
they graciously let me shoot their wedding.
My very first digital wedding!
I had just started using photoshop,
and "going digital" scared me to death.
They had total unwavering faith in me...
it's just something you will never forget...

and now...they welcomed beautiful baby jax...
what a blessing to share in a small way, their love story...

getting ready.

So, I am working on 14 years of marriage...
and well, let's just say...in my experience,
guys and gals often do things, we will say, "differently".

For example, guys can shoot skeet up to, oh about, 15 minutes before formal pictures..

and still manage to be on time...

While ladies, on the other hand, can start a LOT earlier...

annnnd... I will stop there...or the hubby will use my own words against me next time I get ready for a formal event....yikes!
either way, "different" is a good good thing.
just sayin'

the name...

Amanda, is the feminine gerundive of amare, "to love".
also, meaning "she who is to be loved," "worthy of being loved," "worthy of love"
or just plain ole' "lovable"
i agree.

two.

sooo my brother's kiddos are SMART...
I was feeling very proud of myself when I thought I had convinced Rylee she had a pine needle in her shoe....
and just HAD to sit down to get it out...
seriously, you could see the little wheels turning in her brain....
by the time she sat, she knew she had been "tricked"...
and wasn't having any of it...photo opportunity over...

she was on the run.
in my film days, I would have said, "I burnt a roll on her" (36 exposures)...
but in our beautiful digital world...I just deleted, oh about 35 images of the back of her head...
teehee....welcome to the age of two....
don't think I am pointing fingers here...I happen to have a BIG pouty picture, of my Tye,
gracing the space above the boys potty...let's just say...."it happens"...

and well, miss Hannah gave me this....and was ready for her nap....
the good news, it's my brother,
and he can't fire me...

september.

I don't know, does it count if it is in the book of James?
I do know, I think way too much and way too often...

but one of Webster's definitions of the word Mercy is,
"compassionate treatment of those in distress."
probably a good thing.
